Oliver Stone deeply admires socialist, lunatic, dictator Chavez

This tells you all you need to know about Hollywood. This is why no one should care about the pontifications of Hollywood stars. They are foolish at best, seditious (to the extent they are taken seriously) at worst.

Obama biggest recipient of BP cash in the last 20 years.

I doubt the MSM will mention this in context, if at all.
Politico | Erika Lovley WRITES: BP and its employees have given more than $3.5 million to federal candidates over the past 20 years, with the largest chunk of their money going to Obama, according to the Center for Responsive Politics.
But, remember, it's all Bush and Cheney's fault.

Barney Frank to guide final financial reform bill

Bernie Madoff released from prison to help, because, like Frank, Madoff has extensive knowledge in the area.

Obviously I jest, but it would be no less ironic.

They thinks we are fools. Too bad the MSM does not report this stuff in context.!
Reuters | Rachelle Younglai and Kevin Drawbaugh WRITE:
Joining Frank on the panel will be Senator Christopher Dodd, the Democratic author of a Senate bill on the issue

UnSerious at best | Dem Financial reform leaves out Fannie and Freddie

Barney Frank and Chris Dodd are laughing.

Root of the problem escapes Democrats. The Democrats created the mortgage bubble with their "affordable housing" ("affordable housing" is giving mortgages to undeserving borrowers). As we all know, this bubble has burst. Our saviors, the Democrats, seek to rush in and heroically solve the problem (which they created). But surprise, they are not going to reform Fannie and Freddie. Why? Because this is how they buy votes from their taker constituency.

An overhaul that completely skips the problem. They think we are fools.
AP | Jim Kuhnhenn WRITES:
Fixing the government-sponsored mortgage giants Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac was put off for another day.

The two companies lowered their standards for borrowers during the housing boom and now those high-risk loans are defaulting at a record pace. The government has been forced to rescue them to the tune of $145 billion.

Don't like the economy- thank Barney Frank and Community Reinvestment Act

Dem social engineering is a prime culprit of our current economic woes. Too bad the MSM won't report it.

Barney Frank June 27, 2005 - House Floor
"We have, I think, an excessive degree of concern right now about home ownership and it's role in the economy. Obviously speculation is never a good thing. But those who argue that housing prices are now at the point of a bubble seem to me to be missing a very important point. Unlike previous examples we have had where substantial excessive inflation of prices later caused some problems. We are talking here about an entity, home ownership, homes, where there is not the degree of leverage that we have seen elsewhere. This is not the dot com situation. We had problems with people having invested in business plans for which there was no reality, with people building fiber optic cable for which there was no need. Homes that are occupied may see an ebb and flow in the price at a certain percentage level but you're not going to see a collapse that you see when people talk about a bubble. So those of us on our committee in particular will continue to push toward home ownership."

Remember- If you vote for a Dem (ANY DEM!!), the Dem coalition will be served, the Dem coalition is Pelosi-like

We have two parties with two different coalitions. One of the coalitions will be served. The voter therefore, must chose which coalition they prefer and vote accordingly.

It makes no sense, if you are conservative, to vote for any Democrat, even a supposedly conservative one. The Democrat coalition is liberal and a vote for a Democrat, any Democrat, is a vote for the liberal coalition.

To Paul Krugman | It is you and your fellow leftists who are race obsessed

Is that racist? I think maybe it is. The democrats are fixated on race. They carp about it constantly. You never see Republicans doing head counts or favoring folks for the color of their skin.

Yes Paul Krugman, Republicans are the party of civil rights. If you equate civil rights with judging people not by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character.

It is the left who is hung up on the skin color. The evidence is everywhere, just read the New York Times.
NYT | Paul Krugman WRITES: Anyway, given the flap over his assertion that he wouldn’t support the Civil Rights Act of 1964, some Republicans are making the argument that they were the party of civil rights, while Democrats were the enemies. And there’s some truth to that: in the 1950s and early 1960s, the opponents of civil right were largely Southern Democrats.

You knew it would come | Transportation fairness

Gotta make sure bums have a ride to the liquor store. Who cares if it costs billions. Gotta be fair, right?

How about some fairness to the hard working tax PAYER. Talk about social injustice.

Federal Transit Administrator Peter Rogog Quoted below from PRI
"An important part of our need to speed up this process involves quitting all the haggling between the federal government and these agencies about whether they follow and pass a very narrow criteria," said Federal Transit Administrator Peter Rogoff. "Instead, we're going to recognize all of the benefits that transit projects provide, like environmental benefits, mobility benefits, benefits to low-income communities."

Democrat memo to press:"Tell em it's just anti-incumbent anger" | Press: "roger wilco - over and out"

"Ant-incumbent" seems to be the state run media's mantra the last few days. I don't buy it. They think we're fools.

RealClearPolitics | Jay Cost WRITES:

But how many Republican incumbents are in severe jeopardy of losing their seat in Congress to a Democratic challenger?

I count one: Joseph Cao of New Orleans.

Meanwhile, I count more than 20 Democrats in the House and Senate who are in severe jeopardy. Lower the threshold from "severe" to "serious" jeopardy, and I count maybe four Republicans and more than 50 Democrats.

Gov Healthcare's Pandora's Box | Jared Polis wants 50M for "plant food" for kids

Get ready. The government now owns your body (except for the unborn). With health care "reform", anything and everything, can and will, be regulated in the name of "health care cost savings". Where is freedom, and where in the Constitution did politicians, after centuries, find this raw power?
Polis, a Democrat, wants to give schools an incentive to offer more plant-based food. He estimated it would cost around $50 million a year but said he believes that would be more than offset in health care savings because fewer children would suffer from juvenile diabetes, heart disease and other conditions linked to obesity.

So many words to get it so wrong | Michael Kinsley on Tea Partiers

Mr. Kinsley gets Tea Partiers completely wrong. He portrays them as selfish. Since when is freedom selfish? Freedom is the highest ideal and truly makes the world a better place. This cannot be said of the creeping socialism the sixties generation set in motion. The Tea Partiers, in my opinion, want freedom, at least that is what I want, and I think I might be a Tea Partier. I can't be sure, because Tea Partiers just "are".
The Atlantic | Michael Kinsley WRITES:
Their [the 60s protesters] essence was selfless and idealistic: stopping the war; ending racism; eradicating poverty. These goals and some of the methods for achieving them may have been childishly romantic or even entirely wrongheaded, but they were about making the world a better place. The Tea Party movement’s goals, when stated specifically, are mostly self-interested. And they lack poetry: cut my taxes; don’t let the government mess with my Medicare; and so on. I say “self-interested” and not “selfish” because pursuing your own self-interest is not illegitimate in a capitalist democracy. (Nor is poetry an essential requirement.) But the Tea Party’s atmospherics, all about personal grievance and taking umbrage and feeling put-upon, are a far cry from flower power. There is a nasty, sour, vindictive tone to the Tea Party that certainly existed in the antiwar movement and its offspring, but never dominated the atmosphere created by these groups.

Napolitano Hasn't Read Arizona Law But Says She Wouldn't Sign It

They think we're fools. They will say anything- without shame.
"Secretary of Homeland Security Janet Napolitano admits she hasn't read the Arizona immigration law, but passed judgment on it anyway. "That's not the kind of law I would have signed," she declared."

Create problem, offer remedy, act like hero - The Democrat formula

The Democrats created the mortgage bubble with their "affordable housing". Now they trash the lenders they coerced into loaning to undesirable borrowers. They seek to be heroes for offering a remedy- more "affordable housing" (hair of the dog, I guess), to the problem they created. They think we're fools.
KJCT 8 News: Democratic Sen. Michael Bennet visited the Colorado Foreclosure Prevention Hotline in Denver on Monday. After talking to counselors, Bennet joined a call with a homeowner behind on her mortgage payments. Bennet says he hears from many homeowners having trouble paying for their mortgages.

AP | Obama wants light on Wall Street's shadowy deals

How about some light on congress' shadowy deals? The hypocrisy is breathtaking. It is a travesty the MSM media still informs most of the American people, and will not point out Democrat hypocrisy. The MSM is dying, but will it be too late?

I wish, we the consumer, could shine a light on those who lead us. The Democrats are doing and have done, far more to hurt America, then Wall Street. Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac are a huge part of this "Great Recession", and it was a direct result of Democrat social engineering policies.

AP | ERICA WERNER WRITES:  Closer watch over Wall Street will help consumers make better informed choices about investing and shine light on the shadowy deals that caused the financial crisis, President Barack Obama said Saturday in pushing Congress to pass overhaul legislation.

Paul Krugman: Obama granted BP exemption, but it's all Bush and Cheney's fault

Paul Krugman'a alternate universe is probably a nice place. The good news is Paul Krugman is an elite leftist intellectual (big gun little powder).

Obama's, not Bush/Cheney's, fingerprints are on the Gulf oil spill - if anybody's.
Surely, however, none of this — except, possibly, that last exemption, granted early in the Obama administration — surprises anyone who followed the history of the Interior Department during the Bush years.

Is Holder coming to senses on Miranda for terrorists?

AP reports that Holder thinks there should be a modification or exception for public safety situations.

The obvious has finally penetrated, perhaps? Terrorists are not common criminals.

The AP story is here.

Barney Frank | Major cause of financial collapse- is still at it via Gateway Pundit
"Democrat Barney Frank, the chairman of the House Financial Services Committee, sent a letter this week to the White House urging the President to reject the attempt by Republicans to include GSE (Fannie Mae-Freddie Mac) reform in any financial reform bill. Frank argued that had already been reformed and did not need to be included in the Senate’s financial reform bill. Frank told democratic senators, “As Fannie and Freddie operate today, going forward, there is no loss.”

AP Reports:Banks should make loans to sound borrowers

The Democrats are not going to like this. Barney Frank and Andrew Cuomo will be particularly upset.

Will this be the death nell of "Affordable Housing"? ("affordable housing" is where uncreditworthy borrowers magically qualify for loans, due to the twisting of arms done by Democrat congressman)

"Our message is a simple one: institutions should strive to meet the needs of creditworthy borrowers, and the supervisory agencies should do all they can to help, not hinder, those efforts," Bernanke said in prepared remarks to a conference on banking in Chicago.

Paul Krugman notes he is being accused of being a commie more than normal

Maybe more people are paying attention. Now, I think "commie" is a stretch, but I do think Mr. Krugman is just a regular European Style Socialist. I also think Americans don't like those either.

GM named in deceptive advertising complaint filed with FTC

Buy Ford! The GM CEO was lying through his teeth, to the point of being insulting. I for one, will never own another GM product. First he takes my hard earned tax dollars to prop up his lousy business model, then he lies about paying the money back.

If by some modern, pseudo, twisted truth model, he was "technically" factual- fine. In the real world it would be kind to say he was "misleading".

Dems push as much of left wing agenda possible

Legislation Kamikaze style. They know they are finished in November, so they are going for it.
Fred Barnes WRITES:
President Reagan had a sign on his desk that said, "It's amazing how much you can accomplish if you don't care who gets the credit." If President Obama had a sign, it would say, "It's amazing how much you can accomplish if you don't care what the public thinks."
The presence of big majorities now and the likelihood they'll vanish in the midterm election in November have spurred Mr. Obama and Democrats to pursue their entire agenda in 2010. Republicans are expected to cut deeply into the Democratic majorities, possibly capturing one or both houses. This, to put it mildly, would make it extremely difficult to gain approval of their very liberal agenda in the next Congress.

Hypocrites | Congress set in motion mortgage crisis

Democrats mandated 55 percent of Fannie and Freddie funding go to people at or below the median income. The left leaning main stream media does not report this enough. The housing market got pumped up by a bunch of folks who should be renters.

Now we are bailing out these same folks who never should have been able to qualify for a mortgage in the first place. It is hard to have sympathy for the mortgage holders, and the banks were forced, by Democrats, to give the loans, so you can't fully blame them. Now the hypocrites in congress try to demonize the bankers, and put a halo over the heads of the greedy people who signed on the bottom line for a mortgage the could not afford.

US News & World Report, Mortimer B. Zuckerman WRITES:
Democrats who seek to cast Wall Street as the villain forget the congressional mandate they placed on Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac to put 55 percent of their funding into mortgages for people at or below the median income.

Left does not understand the illegal in illegal immigration | Call for baseball boycott

What does the fact the 27 percent of players are born in another country have to do with it. The real question, is how many professional baseball players are illegal aliens.

Are we a nation of laws, or not?
Elizabeth DiNovella of The Progressive WRITES:
Considering that 27 percent of the baseball players on Opening Day rosters were born outside the United States, this boycott isn’t just symbolic.
