Earth to Paul Krugman: It's about illegal immigration, not immigration in general

Maybe Paul Krugman does not understand America. Us common folk, are concerned about illegal immigration, not immigration in general. The left seems unable (or unwilling) to discern the difference between immigration and illegal immigration.
NYT, Paul Krugman WRITES:
It fits in, of course, with the idea that people can be arrested if they aren’t carrying the right papers — or be implanted involuntarily with microchips.

Anti-immigration fever is deeply un-American — at least as I understand America.
